Continuing education (CE) is essential for CPhTs and CSPTs to stay up to date on the latest in pharmacy practice, expand their knowledge, and advance their professional growth. Updating and expanding your knowledge through CE courses and activities helps you advance medication safety in your workplace and contributes to quality patient care.
PTCB requires CPhTs to complete CE to be eligible to renew and maintain the active status of their CPhT and CSPT Certifications. Learn more about CE requirements:

Many CPhTs already track their continuing education (CE) hours with CPE Monitor, a service of the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). Now CPhTs who use the CPE Monitor service may apply for recertification without manually entering their CE activities into their PTCB Account.
PTCB urges all CPhTs to be sure to set up their NABP e-Profile ID before their next recertification deadline. Beginning October 2019 all CPhTs are required to have an NABP e-Profile ID on file with PTCB. Learn more.
PTCB accepts CE from providers accredited by the Accreditation Council of Pharmacy Education (ACPE) that pertains to pharmacy technician-specific (T-specific) subject matter. PTCB also accepts other CE programs if we determine they pertain to pharmacy technician-specific subject matter.
