Educators

Pharmacy technician educators are increasingly important to the future of pharmacy practice. The nation’s evolving healthcare system places new demands on pharmacy technicians to be prepared to assume new and more responsible roles.

Qualified technician education and training is essential as preparation for the pharmacy workplace. PTCB is committed to collaborating with pharmacy technician education/training programs seeking to position their students for rewarding pharmacy careers that advance medication safety and patient care.

Become a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program

PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Programs are a key component of earning PTCB credentials. These programs can be found in educational institutions and places of employment, and may include community colleges, private colleges, high schools, online platforms, community and hospital pharmacies, and other settings. Whether applying for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential, the Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation TechnicianⓇ (CSPTⓇ) credential, or any of our certificate programs, eligibility starts with education and/or work experience.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Starting in 2020, PTCB requires applicants for the Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential to complete a PTCB-Recognized Education/Training Program OR equivalent work experience.

The list of recognized programs is growing every day. Find out more about how to become a PTCB Recognized Education/Training Program.
